1971年女歌手Linda Ronstadt為了巡迴演唱，招募了樂手格林·佛萊(Glenn Frey, 1948 – 2016)和唐·亨利 (Don Henley, 1947 – )加入伴奏樂隊。後來這兩人找了伴奏樂隊中的同事Bernie Leadon與Randy Meisner，成立了The Eagles樂團，1972年6月1日發行了第一張專輯。
1980年時Glenn Frey因為與Don Henley意見不合而離隊(此時只剩下他們兩人是原始的團員)，樂團解散，各自走自己的音樂路；至此The Eagles共發行了6張專輯。1994年他們捐棄前嫌又重組，開始巡迴演唱大賺鈔票。2007年才又發行了第7張專輯。

2005年的演唱。該團有多位主唱,此曲由鼓手Don Henley主唱，前排左起Timothy Schmit(留長髮者，1977年取代Randy Meisner), Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Steuart Smith (2001年他取代了離團的Don Felder)。如果看不到圖像，點選下面播放箭頭，仍可看影片。

Joe Walsh於1975取代離團的Bernie Leadon，Leadon想走鄉村搖滾，不喜歡樂團風格的轉變。1990年代初期，我在達拉斯的德州博覽會見過Joe Walsh。當時是下午，人還不多。突然聽到有人在唱Walsh的歌；回頭一看，Joe Walsh帶著小樂隊，在路中間的臨時小舞台(離地只有幾十公分)上面演唱。台前只有十個人左右，感覺孤寒；當晚在球場Styx樂團的演唱才是主秀。那時The Eagles已解散，1994年重組巡迴演唱時，Joe Walsh又歸隊了。
