I Love the Nightlife我愛夜生活 - Alicia Bridges @ 懷舊影集

艾莉西亞·布麗姬絲(Alicia Bridges,1953–)從小就展現了她在歌唱方面的才華，12歲時就在美國北卡羅萊納州的家鄉有自己的廣播節目，她還會在節目中親口唱歌。

1977年她與寶麗金唱片簽約，1978年發行了第一張專輯"Alicia Bridges"；置頂照片是其封面，背景是亞特蘭大Atlanta市；也是在此完成錄音。其中的單曲"I Love the Nightlife"「我愛夜生活」最高達到美國告示牌Billboard單曲排行榜第五名，在美國銷售超過ㄧ百萬張；在加拿大也獲得金唱片。雖然在英國雖然最高只到排行榜40名，然而在歐洲與日本非常流行。

下面是由黑人歌唱節目「靈魂列車」(Soul Train, 1971~2006)與Alicia Bridges現場表演所剪輯出來的MV。
雖然這首歌是迪斯可名曲之一，可是當時在台灣卻沒有流行。似乎當年在地下舞廳或學生舞會中，都沒聽到有人放這首舞曲。
第一次聽到此曲，是在同學弟弟的卡式錄音帶上。同學的弟弟是舞棍，當然舞曲就是必需的裝備。他有一堆舞曲大雜燴盜版錄音帶，其中有一捲的前面都是台灣當時流行的舞曲，這首"I Love the Nightlife"被放在後面，似乎是用來填補空白。
同學的弟弟是個瘦子且手長腳長，跳起舞來的支體動作非常融入音樂節拍與韻律；看到下面MV中的這些舞者，就想到這位老弟。不過他後來去讀軍校而成為職業軍人，部隊裏的阿兵哥一定難以想像，他們的長官年少輕狂時就如同下面MV中的這些舞棍。如今這位老弟早已中校退伍，聽英文歌/舞棍的歲月已經十分遙遠了，現在只唱卡拉OK。如果看不到圖像，點選下面播放箭頭，仍可看影片。

Alicia Bridge在德國電視上的對嘴表演(單曲唱片上的精簡版本)

Alicia Bridges原本是搖滾與藍調歌手。I Love the Nightlife這首歌由Alicia Bridges與Susan Hutcheson合寫，原來的曲風是節奏藍調(R&B)；但是發行大亨Bill Lowery聽了以後，決定把它改成迪斯可舞曲，而由Jim Burgess重新混音成舞曲。不但當時銷售相當成功，日後許多電影也將這首歌選為配樂，例如:前世冤家今世歡(Love at First Bite, 1979)、最後迪斯可(The Last Days of Disco, 1998)、沙漠女皇：燦爛年代(The Adventures of Priscilla,Queen of the Desert, 1994)。

她曾表示自視為節奏藍調歌手，深受1970年代黑人女歌手Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle的影響；反而批評白人女歌手，除了Joni Mitchell與Janis Joplin以外，其他人表演的時候好像是在夢遊。
