1942年出生於加州洛杉磯郡Glendale市的艾爾芬·畢夏Elvin Bishop，1960年赴芝加哥大學主修物理。1963年他在芝加哥Hyde公園附近遇到了口琴家Paul Butterfield，就加入了Butterfield的樂團擔任吉他手。1968年Bishop離隊自己組成了Elvin Bishop樂團。從1969~2018年發行了21張錄音室專輯、4張精選輯、5張現場演唱專輯。

"Fooled Around And Fell In Love"這首歌選自Elvin Bishop的第6張專輯"Struttin' My Stuff"炫耀自己(1975年)，是Bishop自己的寫作，主唱是米奇·湯瑪斯Mickey Thomas(1949–)。此曲到1976年才發行了單曲唱片，最高達到告示牌Billboard每週單曲排行榜第3名(1976年5月)。1976年6月23日獲得金唱片認證(銷售1百萬張)，年度總排名第56名。
